Hollingworth Lake Repair works

William Pye Limited was contracted to carryout a full upgrade and refurbishment of Hollingworth Lake following an inspection by United Utilities Reservoir Engineer. Works were carried at all parts of the Lake some of which involved dealing with the watercourse and some which involved adjoining landowners and the general public.

Works included demolition and reconstruction of a new bridge structure; new stone pitching, repointing pitching and the importation and placing of Rip Rap stone; rebuilding long lengths of dry stone walling; the design and construction of a 40m long stone retaining wall; erection of timber post and rail fencing; Replacement of ornate handrailing to the perimeter of the lake.

Construction of a new masonry structure over the river, ornate steel handrailing to the perimeter of the lake, repair and replacement of dry stone walling, the construction of stone faced retaining walls together with revetment and bank stabilisation works.
