New Contract Award! – Hyde 132kV Substation

Hyde 132kV Substation

William Pye Limited has been awarded a contract by Electricity North West Limited to carry out Civil Engineering works at Hyde Substation in Greater Manchester.

The purpose of the project is to replace the existing GT1 & GT2 circuits at Hyde 132kV

Substation.

The project is to be phased and include demolition of existing structures and foundations.

Work elements include:

Welfare to be set-up in north east corner of the site.

Existing site boundary to be extended to create new site boundary.

New site boundary to be electrified palisade fencing with concrete kerb and retaining

wall.

Install new drainage run for both new transformer bunds.

Compound levels to be made up and create new access road.

Construction of new piled GT2 transformer bund and circuit.

Installation of multicore cable ducts & draw pits and connection to previously installed

drainage.

Make good dilapidated during construction and finish with 75mm limestone.

Installation of 1No. Lamp standard.

Demolition of existing GT2 circuit, acoustic enclosure.

Construction of new piled GT1 circuit and Transformer bund.

Installation of multicore cable ducts, draw pits and connection to previously installed

drainage.

Make good dilapidated during construction and finish with 75mm limestone.

Finish and make good new access road.

Works are due to commence in May 2013 and completed by early 2014
